ANSI
The National Institute of American Standard (ANSI) was established in 1918 with the objective to improve the global business competitiveness in the United States as well as the quality of life of Americans by promoting and facilitating consensus standards and evaluation systems of compliance.
The Institute supervises the creation and the promulgation of standards and guidelines for most of the industries. ANSI jointly with ALI (American Institute of Ladders) has developed specific standards in particular for portable ladders, and the coding is based on the type of materials used for manufacturing.
